¶ Welcome to “Well, it depends….”, because there is never a simple answer in PHEM.
¶ But there is now this internet textbook of pre-hospital emergency medicine based on the IBTPHEM curriculum 2022.
It is a living wiki site built upon the work of a number of people who have been through IBTPHEM training and who want to provide a textbook to support trainees in navigating the full expanse of the curriculum
This needs to be a crowdsourced FOAMed project to be achievable and sustainable, at one year it will be reviewed and if it has not taken off it will be retired. The team are volunteers, funding the site themselves and busy with work and family so if this doesn't prove popular our time and efforts will be applied to other projects. If this project is something you want to continue then please contribute and help keep it going!
¶ Helping you sort the nuance from the nonsense
It is not endorsed or supported by IBTPHEM, FHPC or RCSEd and is provided as a means of support- to cover the breadth of the curriculum and to attempt to reduce the “unknown, unknowns” of niche PHEM trivia. It does not replace personal study or research. Best efforts are made to ensure its accuracy but if you find an omission or error please contribute to the project and leave a comment to highlight it.
